“Der Blick auf den Mythos” – 3. Teil des Interviews mit Letizia Russo
There are many symbolic patterns interwoven in the plot and characters – in what way does Hundegrab refer to other literal and cultural contexts and what is your interest in using there references?
Many of the most important cultural and literary references in Hundegrab come from Greek myth. In the pursuit of a long-lasting, as universal as possible story, I feel (and I really mean “feel”, it’s like an internal state of mind and soul) that nothing but the myth is more inspiring.
“Nichts im Leben ist frei von Komik” – 2. Teil des Interviews mit Letizia Russo
Within the scenes of Hundegrab there is also some kind of tragicomedy and humour in the way in which the characters communicate with each other. How does laughter or comic impulse affect your writing?
Well, comic is very important to me, and especially the tragicomic frame. Despite the contexts of my plays are often “tragic”, I think it’s vital spreading an ironic or comic mood in the plays.
